The place sacred from Beatenberg is the St. Beatus. According to legend, Beatus, a missionary from Ireland, have to be taken to Lake Thun and sold there from the caves a dragon. His home in the cave was a place of pilgrimage. Even today the mile-long cave with some underground lakes, a main attraction of the municipality. Above the Beatenberg is almost 2000 meters high low horn. This opens up a view from the distant Jura to the direct view of the three giants Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The low-Horn is an ideal starting point for shorter and longer hikes.
