The place Gletsch is a member of the upper forest in the district of Goms in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Gletsch consists essentially of the Hotel Glacier du Rhone and its outbuildings, a railway station and a former gas station. The municipality Gletsch lies at an altitude of 1759 L below the Rhone glacier, at the junction of 1865 and 1895 built through streets of Upper Forest to the passes Furka and Grimsel and is inhabited only in the summer months from June to September.
