Aachen is located in the triangle of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Aachen is located in the center of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine, in an open to the northeast valley in which collect the tributaries of the worm and flow to the Rur. The urban area of Aachen is thus located in the catchment area of the river Meuse, right on the northern edge of the left bank of the Rhine Slate Mountains, about 30 km north of the High Fens.
